1. Install the connector plugin

Log in to your WordPress dashboard (yoursite.com/wp-admin).
Go to Plugins → Add New and search for MainWP Child.
Click Install Now, then Activate.
Open the plugin’s settings and switch on the unique security ID. Copy the ID it shows you.

MainWP Child is a widely used, free plugin that lets us back up and update your site. You can remove it at any time, and our access goes with it.

3. Emergency access (optional, recommended)

If your site ever crashes, WordPress and the connector plugin stop working, so we can only fix it through your hosting account. A separate hosting login, stored in our password vault, means we can start straight away.

Send WordPress’s crash alerts to us tooWordPress emails the site admin when something crashes. We’ll set it up so we get a copy and can tell you what broke.
